Food Safety Course Level 1 (Chinese)
Course Duration: 7.5 hours, including 1.5 hours of assessment
Mode of Assessment: MCQ & Short Answer Questions Written Assessment & Practical Assessment
Attendance Requirements: 100% for classroom sessions and 100% for practical sessions
Course Completion Requirements: Meeting Attendance Requirement and graded as COMPETENT for both Written & Practical Assessment
The Singapore Food Agency (SFA), together with SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG), have revised the Follow Food & Beverage Safety and Hygiene Policies and Procedures course (also known as Basic Food Hygiene Course) and renamed it as Food Safety Course Level 1 under the TSC name of Food Safety and Hygiene Level 1 with effect from 30 November 2020.
The course consists of 6 hours of training and 1.5 hours of assessment. Upon successful completion of the course and assessment, a Statement of Attainment (SOA) will be awarded to the participants.
This will accord the participants to work in food and beverage preparation / pre-requisite to operate a food shop/stall.
On completion of this unit, participants will have the knowledge and skills in Food Safety and Hygiene and be able to apply them at the workplace. These include:
- Practise good personal hygiene
- Use safe ingredients
- Handle food safely
- Store food safely
- Maintain cleanliness of equipment and premises
Assumed Skills & Knowledge:
This course is conducted and assessed in Mandarin.
Candidates must be in proper dress code (e.g. no slippers, long hairs are tied up and no nail polish) and are encouraged to adhere to them when attending the course.
