This course will impart the knowledge and skills for WSH professionals to investigate workplace incidents and accidents based on root cause analysis and identification of corrective actions to prevent recurrences. WSH professionals will benefit from this course as they will develop the necessary skillset for responding to and supporting the investigation of incidents.

Course Objective

At the end of the programme, you will be able to:

  • respond to incidents in accordance with organisation WSH procedures
  • report incidents to internal stakeholders
  • cordon off and preserve the incident site for investigation
  • support WSH incident investigation
Assumed Skills & Knowledge / Pre-requisites

This course is targeted at existing or aspiring professionals who have at least a diploma in any WSH related field. The forecasted demographic for the course will predominantly be fresh graduates from Polytechnics or Universities or mid-career switchers. Learners without the required educational qualifications but with sufficient years of relevant working experience will also be accepted into the course on a case-by-case basis.

Course Outline
  • Apply organisation WSH procedures in response to incidents
  • Explain incident report to internal stakeholders using internal incident reporting requirements and protocol
  • Preparing the incident site for investigation
  • Apply Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) incident investigation procedures and methods to support WSH incident investigation
Fees and Funding

This course is applicable for SkillsFuture Funding up to 70%.

*From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old) .
