This Competency Unit specifies the skills and knowledge required by people to operate in the trade pertaining to operate forklift in the manufacturing / logistics industry in a WSQ Level 1 operation.

Course Objective

At the end of the programme, you will be able to:

  • operate & handle forklift safely.
  • carry out basic pre-operational & post checks.
  • explain Forklift Safety Triangle.
  • understand load chart.
  • have a hands-on handling experience on forklift operation.
Assumed Skills & Knowledge / Pre-requisites

 Learners must be above 18 years of age and are assumed to:

  • be able to interpret work instructions and technical information
  • be able to listen and speak English at a proficiency level equivalent to the Employability Skills System (ESS) level 3; (Applies to English Courses ONLY)
  • be able to read and write English at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3; and (Applies to English Courses ONLY)
  • be able to process numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ESS level 3

This course is applicable for SkillsFuture Funding up to 70%.

*From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old).
