Course Objective

WSQ Operate Wood Chipper course is a 1-day course for workers and technicians working in the landscaping industry or wishes to join the industry. It is a foundational course that aims to equip learners with the competencies to operate a wood chipper safely.

Assumed Skills & Knowledge / Pre-requisites

This foundational course is applicable to anyone who is keen to learn how to operate a wood chipper safely. There is no pre-requisite in terms of working experience. However, learners for this course are expected to be attentiveness, safety-minded and adopt a serious attitude during training.

Course Outline
  • Understand Workplace Safety and Health Act 
  • Prepare and Operate wood chipper safely
  • Conduct pre-operational inspection
  • Select and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriate for the work
  • Clean and store tools and equipment
  • Identify, tag and report faulty tools and equipment
Fees and Funding

This course is applicable for SkillsFuture Funding up to 70%.

*From 1 Jan 2022, SkillsFuture course funding will be revised to a baseline of 50% subsidy, with an additional 20% subsidy (up to 70% subsidy) for SMEs and Mid-career individuals (Singapore citizens above 40 years old) . Do note that the funding amount advised is not final and is subject to changes.
