Learning Outcome

At the end of the programme, you will be able to:

-List rules and regulations to ensure safety in erecting scaffold system

-Identify, select, set up and perform pre-checking of scaffolding system in accordance with safe work practices, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

-Perform erection and dismantling frame scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

-Perform erection and dismantling tubular independent tied scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

-Perform erection and dismantling tower scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

-Perform erection and dismantling modular scaffold in accordance with safe work procedures, general principles and requirements of SS659, WSH(Scaffold) Regulations and other related WSH Regulations

-Perform housekeeping and maintain record keeping of scaffold system in accordance with safe work practices and regulatory requirement

-Identify hazards and ensure safety of scaffold erection and dismantling

-Record work in scaffold register and inspection

For Whom

The “Supervise Metal Scaffold Erection” is a mandatory WSH training course for all workers supervising scaffolding works in construction sites and related industries.

Assumed Skills Knowledge / Entry Requirement

-Successfully completed the Metal Scaffold Erection Course. Proof of entry requirement includes the submission of Certificate of Successful Completion or WSQ Certificate of Attainment (SOA).

-Employability Skills (ES) Workplace Literacy level 4 and above.

-Be able to manipulate numbers at a proficiency level equivalent to ES Workplace Numeracy level 4 and above.

-Learners must be above 18 years of age

-Medically and physically fit

-Have basic knowledge of relevant sector of work
